The Leicester Ring

Now we are allowed out from lock-down we have decided to have another canal boat holiday.  This time we are intending to do a route called the Leicester Ring, 164 miles and 101 locks over the course of two and a half weeks. As 164 miles is less than the distance from London to Barnard Castle it is clearly an acceptable journey and travelling at 4mph means poor eyesight won't be a problem.
We collect the boat from Napton, which is near Leamington Spa, and head off north past Rugby, Nuneaton and Burton on Trent before turning east below Derby and Nottingham and then back south via Leicester. The current rules say we are not allowed inside pubs but can sit in the gardens to enjoy beer and food in the cold rain!
Unusually I have done a lot more research on this route than our previous trips, partly as I had nothing else to do and also to try and identify places and pubs we could visit in restrictions in force at the moment.
It will probably all go wrong but at least it gets us old people out of the house.
